ANIA LOSINGER

Ania Losinger was born 1970 in Berne (Switzerland) and has followed her dream to find a creative outlet, in which dance and music are combined in one person. She obtained her dance and musical training in the Swiss National Team of Rhythmic Sport Gymnastics, in rhythmic and music studies at the University of Music in Zürich and in the flamenco dance, where she discovered her fascination for metrical rhythm. With the Xala as a danceable percussion instrument she finds a sensual and abstract synthesis of music and movement. Numerous productions follow such as the solo CD-Rom Ania Losinger XALA /2001, Tonus-Music with the Xala and Symphonic Orchestra /2003, different solo concert performances in Switzerland and abroad and the DVD New Ballet For Xala / 2005.
